Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and security-cleared Senior Unified Communications Engineer to lead the design, configuration, and support of enterprise telephony systems, including Avaya, Managed Secure Telephony Platform (MSTP), and Enterprise VoIP (EVoIP). This role is critical to ensuring secure, reliable, and optimized communication infrastructure in a mission-critical environment.
Core Responsibilities:
Manage and troubleshoot Avaya and MSTP systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Oversee all engineering activities related to MSTP configuration, including endpoint connectivity and system integration.
Resolve complex technical issues, including performance bottlenecks and system outages.
Ensure that Avaya and MSTP solutions are aligned with operational and business requirements.
Provide backend engineering support for Tier 4 (T4) telephony-related tickets and incidents.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Maintain and support Enterprise VoIP (EVoIP) systems, ensuring peak performance and reliability.
Deliver secure reach-back support and remote troubleshooting for distributed environments.
Support business process modeling and reengineering initiatives to improve communication workflows.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure technical strategies align with evolving business needs and security requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance required.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in unified communications or telephony engineering roles.
Proven expertise in Avaya, MSTP, and VoIP technologies.
Strong troubleshooting skills and experience resolving complex telephony issues.
Familiarity with Cisco, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft TAC, and Power BI.
Experience working in secure or classified environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodologies.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure environments.
