Applied Research Solutions is seeking a Network/Computer Engineer to support the design, development, testing and evaluation, implementation, maintenance, and administration of advanced computer networks. This role requires hands-on technical expertise in computer engineering and software virtualization to deliver mission-critical support within a complex and secure Department of Defense (DoD) environment. The Network/Computer Engineer will provide support to the Agile Combat Support (ACS) Directorate’s WNR Division SCARS Program at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH.

Responsibilities include:
- Design and implement new or enhanced computer network systems and components.
- Support integration of hardware and software systems at both system and subsystem levels.
- Perform system requirements analysis, architecture development, and allocation activities.
- Conduct systems testing, evaluation, and performance validation.
- Provide support for software virtualization efforts within secure DoD environments.
- Assist in the application of systems acquisition principles and methodologies.
- Interface with stakeholders to ensure network solutions meet operational and security requirements.
- Apply knowledge of IEEE Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) and High Level Architecture (HLA) standards to solve complex networking challenges.
- Ensure compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) procedures in support of system Authorization to Operate (ATO).
- Provide technical support and recommendations related to the DISN infrastructure, including point-to-point services, IP-based services, and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:
- Must be US Citizen
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD
- OR, Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD
- OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight of which must be in the DoD.
- Experience working in joint military or defense simulation environments.
