THE OPPORTUNITY:
Upon award, BTAS will fill potential openings for the Space Systems Command (SSC). SSC plays a critical role in advancing the United States's space capabilities, delivering cutting-edge solutions to protect and enhance national security. SSC/SZBC specializes in highly classified Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control (DSC/OSC) capabilities, and space test range assets to support the Department of Defense's (DoD) current and future operational needs.
As a leader in space technology, SSC/SZ-BC is responsible for the development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of mission-critical systems spanning the entire acquisition life cycle. These efforts ensure the United States Space Force (USSF), and its mission partners maintain a strategic advantage in space operations. This position will support multiple SSC/SZ-BC programs, as well as other initiatives across the Space Force, Air Force, and allied organizations.

COMPENSATION / SALARY RANGE:
BTAS adheres to federal, state, and local regulations. This is a Full-Time, Salary, Exempt position. The following salary range is what we reasonably expect to pay but is contingent and subject to a variety of factors, including but not limited to years of experience, education, certification(s), training, specialized skills, responsibilities, etc.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical advice for all project stages to support the acquisition life cycle.
- Support program acquisition for advanced technology, future concept development, and integration.
- Advise and assist on cost, schedule, and performance issues.
- Revise or draft Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) and acquisition documentation for Government program managers.
- Support presentations of products to internal and external customers.
- Provide draft SME-level technical and/or programmatic status reports as requested.
- Identify and recommend improvements in acquisition processes.
- Assist in building and maintaining a Government risk program.
- Support the Government program manager with fund management and perform earned value management and schedule analysis.
- Provide PPBE support including congressional reporting, fiscal year planning, and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) development.
- Assist with reviewing and analyzing DoD program support packages.
- Participate in Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) surveillance reviews and provide evaluations.
- Maintain awareness of current program schedules and monitor acquisition implementation.
- Provide program assessments based on identified risks.
- Advise on technical engagements such as meetings, design reviews, and conferences.
- Assist integrated product teams and establish customer and Contractor interfaces.
- Assist the Government in executing source selections subject to FAR 9.505-4, including developing source selection documentation and reviewing proposal evaluations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be an SME Recognized Industry Leader. Requires more than 10 years' relevant experience/ status as:
- Expert in acquiring highly classified ACAT-like MILSATCOM systems.
- Expert in developing and coordinating all activities and documentation required to support ACAT-like Defense Acquisition Boards (DABs).
- Expert in developing and coordinating all activities and documentation required to support a major source selection for an ACAT-like program.
- Highly knowledgeable in evaluation/assessment of solicitation products of a technical nature (e.g., work statements, acquisition plans, technical readiness assessments, contract data artifacts, technical requirements/compliance documents, evaluation criteria, etc.) for technical rigor, adequacy, completeness, as well as appropriate application of the specialty engineering disciplines.
- Highly knowledgeable in the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution process.
- Highly knowledgeable in Air Force contracting and Air Force financial management.
- Highly knowledgeable in acquisition program support.
