Systems Integration and Transition Lead
Position Overview:
This role supports the Engineering Management team within the Mapping, Charting, and
Geodesy (MC&G) Program Executive Office (PEO) by managing system transitions, integrations,
and technology alignment across the MC&G Mission Domain. The incumbent ensures seamless
transitions between legacy and emerging systems, supports engineering process improvements,
and leads cross-program coordination to drive system performance and mission success.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) supporting MC&G PEO Engineering Management
and Program Managers on system transitions and integration
•
Lead and manage system transition planning and execution across MC&G programs,
pilots, and initiatives
•
Coordinate transitions between MC&G PEO and external organizations (e.g., NGA/SF,
Research directorates)
•
Align capability development efforts across stakeholders to avoid redundancy and
ensure mission coherence
•
Maintain situational awareness of external system transitions and assess impacts to
MC&G Mission Domain systems
•
Support onboarding of new vendors, including transition planning, scheduling, and
closeout activities
•
Oversee integration of systems across the MC&G portfolio, producing required technical
specifications and artifacts
•
Develop and maintain transition-related documentation, including: Integrated Master
Schedule (IMS); System Dependency Matrix; Transition inputs to Requirements Baseline;
Architecture interface specifications; Interface Control Documents (ICDs); Service Level
Agreements (SLAs)
•
Coordinate with CIO-T IPOs to ensure smooth system changeovers with no mission
disruption
•
Act as MC&G PEO System Outage Coordinator, assessing operational impacts of planned
events across mission areas
•
Identify opportunities for new technology insertion to enhance performance and
mission effectiveness
•
Evaluate and recommend improvements to MC&G engineering processes and
procedures
•
Develop strategic product roadmaps to guide capability adoption, reduce duplication,
and optimize integration
•
Synchronize development cadences across multiple system initiatives to ensure
alignment
•
Prepare and deliver briefings and Weekly Activity Report (WAR) inputs for internal and
external stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
•
Minimum 2 years of experience supporting the National System for Geospatial
Intelligence (NSG)
•
At least 2 years of experience managing complex IT system transitions, including: From
legacy contractors to new vendors; From legacy to modernized technical solutions;
Between different organizational entities
•
2+ years of experience with systems integration and architecture analysis, including
interface specs, dependencies, and performance assessments
•
2+ years of experience working in Agile development environments, preferably with
Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies
•
TS/SCI or SCI eligible
