Geospatial Program SME
Overview:
This role provides comprehensive program and technical support to the Mapping, Charting, and
Geodesy (MC&G) Program Executive Office (PEO), supporting mission execution, acquisition
lifecycle management, cross-organizational coordination, and technical analysis. The position
plays a critical role in advancing MC&G mission domains across the NSG, IC, and DoD.
Key Mission Domains:
•
Earth Modeling & Sciences: World Geodetic System (WGS-84), Earth Gravity Model,
World Magnetic Model, 3D Elevation Mapping
•
Maritime Navigation Safety
•
Aeronautical Navigation Safety
•
Land Navigation Support: Geographic Names, Topographic Mapping, Human Geography
•
Integrated Content Dissemination
Key Responsibilities:
•
Coordinate cross-branch activities within the MC&G PEO as directed by senior leadership
•
Support technical and program management of government contracts, including cost,
schedule, performance, and risk oversight
•
Conduct policy analysis and special studies affecting MC&G mission areas
•
Facilitate outreach and coordination across IPOs, NGA directorates, DoD, IC, and
interagency partners
•
Assist in acquisition planning and documentation, including SIBRs, SOWs, MIPRs, ECPs,
and NIPRs
•
Review contractor deliverables and technical evaluations to support negotiations and
contract compliance
•
Support PPBE lifecycle activities, including POM submissions, funding allocations, and
strategic roadmaps
•
Provide input to NGA and multi-agency working groups on Foundation GEOINT initiatives
•
Develop and manage teaming agreements, PIAs, OCI plans, and regulatory data
submissions
•
Conduct CFSR analysis, track invoices, and ensure funding alignment and program
execution
•
Identify and resolve operational and technical issues impacting project success
•
Prepare and deliver briefings, WAR inputs, and status reports to internal and external
stakeholders
•
Track and document program risks, opportunities, and performance metrics
Required Qualifications:
•
Experience: 5+ years supporting MC&G Mission Domains, or 10+ years supporting NSG,
IC, or DoD environments
•
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, CS, IT, MIS, Geography, GIS,
Geodetic Sciences, or other STEM); Preferred: Master’s degree in related discipline
•
Technical/Programmatic Expertise: 2+ years applying systems engineering processes
and enterprise interoperability planning; 2+ years supporting large IT programs
•
Clearance: TS SCI or SCI eligible
