Minimum Certifications:
AWS SysOps Administrator – Associate
IAT Level II Certification
Position Overview: The Senior AWS Cloud Systems Operations Administrator serves as a cloud infrastructure subject matter expert, focusing on AWS systems administration, security, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze, plan, and develop requirements documentation
Build functional models and architectures
Develop procedures and support technical/management functions
Deploy, manage, and operate workloads on AWS
Implement and monitor security controls and compliance standards
Utilize AWS Management Console and CLI
Apply the AWS Well-Architected Framework
Work with AWS tools (e.g., Kubernetes, EKS, Lambda, Diode)
Maintain and secure AWS networking and cloud services
Required Qualifications:
10+ years in IT systems administration (Microsoft and Linux platforms)
Proficiency in AWS cloud infrastructure (patching, STIGs, upgrades)
Experience with AWS workload administration
Familiarity with RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
Experience supporting Amazon EKS
One year of hands-on experience with containerized platforms
Bachelor's degree (Master’s may substitute for 2 years of experience)
Preferred Skills & Certifications (Optional):
Candidates should hold at least two (2) of the following, along with one (1) year of applied experience in container orchestration or application deployment. (Two years of relevant experience may substitute for a certification.)
AWS Cloud Practitioner (Foundational)
AWS SysOps Administrator (Associate)
Operating a Production Kubernetes Cluster
Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA)
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
