The Opportunity: Senior Electronics Technician

As a Senior Electronics Technician, you'll be an integral member of our team, diving into projects from early prototype stages to highly controlled production of mature products. We're looking for someone with a broad yet honed skill set who can independently tackle a wide range of tasks, including:
  • Electronics assembly
  • Testing
  • Troubleshooting
  • Repairs

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify electronic developmental and production products, parts, components, and systems according to engineering instructions
  • Assemble electronics products using PCB assembly machines and hand tools, using a microscope, to achieve precise tolerances
  • Take ownership of and maintain the electronics laboratory space
  • Perform routine operational tests and fault isolation to ensure conformance with design specifications. Diagnose and isolates failures and makes necessary repairs
  • Perform Wire Harness manufacturing to IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards
  • Setup, operate and maintain automated wire harness assembly equipment
  • Soldering per J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 for all types of solder joints
  • Sourcing and acquisition of commercially available items that meet engineering specifications
  • Creativity and latitude in performing duties
  • Compliance with safety and quality policies and procedures


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a related technical discipline plus 6 years of relevant experience, or high school diploma or GED equivalent and 8 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • IPC-A-610, IPC/SHMA-A-620, and J-STD-001 certifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency with electronics assembly tools, equipment, and techniques
  • Recent experience running surface mount technology (SMT) equipment; stencil printer, pick and place, reflow oven
  • Ability to work closely with multidiscipline engineering teams
  • Ability to use complex test instruments such as waveform generators, oscilloscopes, DC Power Supplies, electronic loads, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, digital multimeters, and complex computer control equipment
  • Ability to read and utilize electronics manufacturing documentation correctly
  • Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions.
  • Experience troubleshooting problems that cannot be solved solely by referencing Manufacturer's manuals or similar documents.
  • Knowledge of ESD control methods and standard practices
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and equipment
  • Attention to detail


Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with Radio Frequency equipment testing in anechoic chambers
  • Mechanical and RF Assembly
  • An active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher


Physical Requirements

May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
