Description
USI is seeking an experienced Senior Aviation Military Analyst - Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) and Cyber Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support critical capability development efforts at the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE), Fort Novosel, AL. This position directly supports the Aviation Capability Development and Integration Directorate (A-CDID), focusing on the integration, protection, and advancement of Army Aviation platforms in contested electromagnetic and cyber environments.
This role is ideally suited for a Senior Army Aviator or EW Warrant Officer with extensive operational experience, deep subject matter expertise in aviation survivability and cyber/EW integration, and a strong background in capability development, testing, and operational analysis.

This position directly supports the Aviation Capability Development and Integration Directorate (A-CDID), focusing on the integration, protection, and advancement of Army Aviation platforms in contested electromagnetic and cyber environments.
This role is ideally suited for a Senior Army Aviator or EW Warrant Officer with extensive operational experience, deep subject matter expertise in aviation survivability and cyber/EW integration, and a strong background in capability development, testing, and operational analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert for EW and cyber threats to Army Aviation platforms, particularly those equipped with Aviation Survivability Equipment (ASE).
- Support the development, analysis, and implementation of protection measures, operational procedures, and training strategies against electromagnetic and cyber threats.
- Plan, execute, and facilitate Working Groups and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to assess capabilities, identify gaps, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide analytical support to aviation modernization efforts, contributing to: JCIDS documentation (ICDs, CDDs, CPDs, White papers, concept papers, operational views, Executive briefings, and senior-level decision documents
- Conduct threat assessments and survivability analysis in support of capability-based assessments (CBAs) for fixed-wing ISR and threat system platforms.
- Lead or support aviation studies, operational test events, and technology evaluations focused on EW/cyber survivability.
- Apply operational knowledge and technical expertise to improve Army Aviation resilience in multi-domain operations.
- Provide graduate-level written products with minimal government revisions required.
- Work independently under senior-level guidance to deliver fully developed and actionable analysis and documentation.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of Army combat operations experience as a Rated Army Aviator or EW Warrant Officer.
- Proven expertise in training and implementing electromagnetic and cyber protection strategies for Army aircraft with ASE systems.
- In-depth knowledge of EW/cyber threats and their impact on aviation mission survivability.
- Experience in roles such as Tactical Operations Officer (TACOPS), Special Electronic Mission Aircraft (SEMA) crew, or Electronic Warfare Officer is highly preferred.
- At least 5 years' experience in combat developments or capability management.
- Experience in planning and facilitating working groups/IPTs and conducting aviation studies or test events.
- Participation in Army Aviation CBAs related to ISR fixed wing platforms or threat system survivability is highly desirable.
- Experience authoring or contributing to JROC-approved JCIDS documents is desired.
- Education:
- Completion of military or civilian staff development education (CGSC/ILE or Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course equivalent).
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Skills:
- Graduate-level writing and editing skills; able to independently produce polished white papers and documentation.
- Strong coordination and communication skills to work with interdisciplinary teams and government stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Security Clearance:
- Active TS/SCI clearance required.
