Job Description:

Quantech Services is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team in Hanover, MD. The ideal candidate is a seasoned DevOps professional with proven expertise in Department of Defense cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes, container orchestration, CI/CD, automation, AWS, Linux systems administration, scripting in Bash and Python, and a background in big data solutions.

Salary: $160K - $180K

Security Clearance Required:

Active Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.

Education / Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 9+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development
  OR
• Master's degree in a related field and 7 years of relevant experience
  OR
• High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years of relevant experience

Other Required Experience:

• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda)
• Proficient in Linux system administration and troubleshooting
• Proficient in Terraform and Ansible
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including administration and troubleshooting
• Experience with application, container, and OS deployment, scaling, and management
• Proficient in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go
• Familiar with Git, Flux, and standard development/deployment tools
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills
• Must have a DoD 8140 / 8570 compliant certification (e.g., Security+)
• Must support on-site rotating schedule (during regular business hours) in Hanover or Columbia, MD, with occasional remote work
• Flexibility is essential for schedule changes

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, Presto, etc.
• Experience with containers, EKS, Diode, CI/CD, and Terraform is a plus

Job Duties:

• Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, especially EKS
• Support deployment of on-premise and portable Edge infrastructure
• Automate deployment processes; ensure reliability and scalability
• Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into infrastructure
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems
• Continuously improve tools and processes for performance and availability
• Stay current with industry trends and new technologies
• Other duties as assigned

Work Environment:

Operates in a professional office environment using standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
