ARS is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to play a critical role in acquiring and deploying software-intensive systems for Global Strike. The ideal candidate possesses a understanding of software development lifecycles, government acquisition processes, and technical expertise to evaluate and guide the acquisition of complex software solutions.

Responsibilities Include:
- Acquisition Strategy and Execution:
Assist in the development of software acquisition strategies, plans, and documentation, including RFPs, Statements of Work (SOWs), Performance Work Statements, and acquisition plans.
Provide support with the market research and analysis to identify potential software solutions and vendors.
Assist in the evaluation of vendor proposals, technical documentation, and software demonstrations.
Support contract negotiations and manage vendor performance throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
- Technical Oversight and Evaluation:
- Provide technical expertise in evaluating software architectures, designs, and development methodologies.
- Review and analyze software development artifacts, including requirements specifications, design documents, and test plans.
- Contribute to the assessment of software development risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure alignment between acquired software solutions and government standards, policies, and best practices (e.g., cybersecurity, DoD/AF acquisition regulations).
- Software Development Lifecycle Support:
- Provide technical guidance and support to program offices during all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Promote the use of modern software development practices (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD) within the acquisition process.
- Support the integration, testing, and deployment of acquired software systems.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate effectively with government stakeholders, including program managers, contracting officers, and technical experts.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications/Technical Experience Required:
- Must be US Citizen
- Must possess TS/SCI clearance
- Security+ CE
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.(Make this a firm requirement for Senior)
- Years of Experience:
- At least 10+ years of combined experience in software development, systems engineering, and/or government acquisition.(Adjust based on your company's seniority standards)
- Demonstrable experience in acquiring and deploying complex software systems for the DoD or other government agencies.
Preferred Experience:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with specific software development methodologies (e.g., Agile).
- Knowledge of specific DoD/AF acquisition regulations and policies.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP), DAWIA Level III in Engineering or Acquisition).
- Familiarity with fundamental AI/ML concepts, including supervised/unsupervised learning, classification, regression, and common algorithms (e.g., linear regression, decision trees).
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience using Jira to manage sprints, backlogs, and releases.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and knowledge bases in Confluence.
