Job Summary
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
Perform system security technical decomposition, analysis, and impact assessments with the focus on the vulnerability assessment of ground- and space-based cyber physical, logical and embedded systems operating in a variety of domains and mission contexts.
Apply cybersecurity analytical methods, processes, and frameworks, such as RMF, to support the development, assessment, and authorization of secure technical solutions.
Develop and review system documentation for cybersecurity measures to support program management and Defense acquisition life cycle milestone requirements.
Conduct operational and system data flow analysis and documentation for vulnerability assessments.
Complete verification, validation analysis and documentation of system interfaces or sub-components of cyber-physical and embedded systems.
Experiment with different attack techniques against critical points and developing mitigations to prevent future attacks on the specific architecture of a given system.
Communicate test and analysis results clearly to clients and stakeholders, both in oral presentation format and in formal written reports.
Apply core engineering skills and knowledge to client and stakeholder challenges.
Create analysis tools to support cybersecurity efforts.
Lead small team engagements with clients, to include assisting with requirement development, project execution, and reporting.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer Mid-Level at STF, you will support the System Engineering Support Services (SESS) team performing various cybersecurity related technical assessments and design tasks on cyber physical, logical, and embedded devices. The location for this work is San Diego, CA, and may incur minimal travel.
Qualifications and Skills
Required knowledge and years of experience
Minimum 5+ years relevant work experience (cyber offense/defense, hardware/software reverse engineering, technical cyber risk assessment)
Qualifications Desired:
Experience with modern ground- and space-based cryptographic hardware, including device certifications and assessments, with demonstrated collaboration with industry and Government stakeholders.
Experience providing substantive contributions to DoD Program Protection Plans (PPP) and appendices, including experience developing Security Classification Guides (SCG), Cybersecurity Strategies (CSS), and Anti-Tamper Plans (ATP).
Experience in software reverse engineering, or hardware reverse engineering
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in an IT- or Engineering-related field (e.g., cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering).
Certifications
At least one (1) of the following certifications is required: Certified Information Systems Security

The minimum salary starts at $130,000 and the max is negotiable based on experience.
