ASRC Federal is seeking a qualified Senior Systems Engineer to support a DoDEA client at Peachtree City, GA.

This position supports the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) as a Senior Systems Engineer. The incumbent is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex IT systems that support the organization's global infrastructure. This role requires deep technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, mission-focused environment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level systems including on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Serve as the technical lead for systems engineering projects, ensuring alignment with DoDEA's IT strategy and security requirements.
  • Oversee systems integration, automation, performance tuning, and incident response for mission-critical services.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture documentation, technical procedures, and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with cybersecurity teams.
  • Manage virtualization platforms including VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V, and associated tools (vCenter, System Center).
  • Lead technical planning for system upgrades, patches, backups, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in systems engineering and security compliance.
Required Qualifications
  • Top Secret Clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in systems engineering roles, preferably in federal or defense environments.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent security certification.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) and/or VMware Certified Professional (VCP) strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in systems architecture, design, virtualization, and hybrid cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Performance Standards

All tasks are expected to meet performance standards defined by the contract and organizational policies. At least 90% of engineering deliverables should be completed on time and meet quality benchmarks. No more than 10% may be rejected per quarter.
Work Conditions

Work will be performed on-site at DoDEA facilities with possible authorized telework. Core hours are Monday through Friday, 0730-1730, excluding federal holidays. Some travel may be required based on project needs.
