Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The Lead Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable cloud-based solutions aligned with the organization's strategic objectives
- Possess a deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, coupled with a strong grasp of cybersecurity principles and best practices
- Lead the development of cloud architectures that optimize performance, security, and cost-effectiveness, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, including the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
- Apply expertise in the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) to develop, maintain, and analyze enterprise architecture artifacts, ensuring alignment with DoD policies, standards, and guidance
- Evaluate existing infrastructure, identifying opportunities for cloud migration and developing detailed architectural designs and roadmaps
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
- 12+ years of position-specific relevant experience.
- Familiarity with DoDAF and its views, including the operational view (OV), systems view (SV), and technical standards view (TV)
- Experience in developing and maintaining DoDAF-compliant architecture artifacts, such as Operational Viewpoints (OVP), Systems Viewpoints (SVP), and Capability Viewpoints (CV).
- Cloud platform certification (e.g., AWS or Azure).
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).
- Certifications related to DevOps practices, such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
- In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services (compute, storage, networking, databases).
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in conducting DoDAF-based architecture assessments and gap analysis.
- Knowledge of DoDAF 2.02 and its application in cloud-based and agile-informed environments.
- Familiarity with DoDAF modeling tools and techniques.
- Multiple cloud platform certifications (e.g., AWS and Azure). PMP. AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Professional, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect-Expert, Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have an active/current Secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
- Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc
