Position Title: Cybersecurity Analyst

Location: Washington, DC

Clearance: TS/SCI

Position Summary:

Command Cyber Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and reliable Data Center Engineer to support the design, maintenance, and optimization of mission-critical data center infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of compute, storage, and networking systems that support enterprise operations. The ideal Data Center Engineer will have hands-on experience with server hardware, virtualization platforms, structured cabling, and environmental systems, as well as a proactive approach to monitoring and problem resolution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, storage systems, and network hardware.

  • Support virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and monitor system performance and uptime.

  • Perform routine data center operations including patching, racking and stacking, and cabling infrastructure.

  • Monitor power, cooling, and environmental systems to ensure data center availability and performance.

  • Troubleshoot hardware failures, system outages, and performance issues across multiple platforms.

  • Assist with disaster recovery planning, backup validation, and failover testing.

  • Ensure change control procedures are followed and maintain accurate documentation of configurations and assets.

  • Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and facilities teams to align infrastructure performance with business needs.

  • Enforce data center physical security and access control procedures.

  • Participate in capacity planning, system upgrades, and infrastructure projects.


Education, Certification & Experience Requirements:

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise data center environments.


Certification Required:

  • Security+ (Required)

  • CompTIA Server+ or Data+ (Preferred)

  • VMware VCP, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator are a plus.

  • DCIM or other vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Dell EMC, Cisco, HPE) are desirable.


Experience Required:

  • Proficiency in server administration (Windows/Linux), storage management, and virtualization technologies.

  • Familiarity with enterprise backup solutions, monitoring tools, and automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python).

  • Working knowledge of structured standards, rack elevation, and hardware lifecycle support.

  • Understanding of data center power distribution, UPS, cooling, and fire suppression systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with incident and change management workflows.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of enterprise data center operations, hardware lifecycle, and infrastructure best practices.

  • Knowledge of virtualization and cloud integration in hybrid data center models.

  • Skill in diagnosing hardware failures, performance bottlenecks, and environmental issues.

  • Skill in managing physical and virtual assets, including configuration baselines and firmware updates.

  • Ability to plan and execute migrations, system upgrades, and capacity scaling with minimum disruption.

  • Ability to maintain strong documentation habits and operate in compliance-driven environments.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting with attention to detail and urgency.
