Technical Writer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer with a strong background in Information Security to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, curating, and maintaining high-quality documentation that supports our security infrastructure, compliance initiatives, and technical operations. You will collaborate closely with cybersecurity professionals, engineers, and product teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible content for a variety of audiences.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Author and Maintain Documentation : Create and update technical documentation including security policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), incident response guides, system architecture diagrams, and user manuals.
• Translate Technical Concepts : Work with cybersecurity engineers and analysts to understand complex systems and processes, and translate them into clear, concise, and accurate documentation.
• Ensure Accuracy and Compliance : Conduct thorough research and validation to ensure documentation aligns with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally : Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs), product managers, and developers to gather information and ensure documentation reflects current practices and technologies.
• Support Knowledge Management : Contribute to the development of internal knowledge bases and training materials to support onboarding and continuous learning.
• Maintain Consistency and Quality : Apply editorial standards and style guides to ensure consistency across all documentation assets.
• Leverage Tools and Platforms : Utilize monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics) to understand system behavior and document operational workflows.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Active Public Trust Clearance (mandatory)
• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the cybersecurity or IT infrastructure domain
• Exceptional command of written English, with a strong grasp of grammar, style, and tone
• Demonstrated ability to write for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working in a regulated or compliance-driven environment (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST, ISO 27001)
• Familiarity with security tools and platforms such as AppDynamics , Splunk , and Operations Bridge Manager (OBM)
• Basic proficiency in HTML , CSS , and JavaScript for web-based documentation
• Experience with documentation platforms (e.g., Confluence, GitHub, Markdown, DITA, or similar CMS tools)
