Job Title: Functional Specialist/Advisor - IT Audit & Compliance Support
Location: Springfield, VA (NGA-Washington) - Onsite
Employment Type: Full-Time
Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI Required

Years of Experience: 7-10 years in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or Engineering

Certification: None required; working knowledge of FISMA and A-123 standards preferred
Salary: $80,000-$100,000 (based on experience and qualifications)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Functional Specialist/Advisor to support IT audit and compliance activities within a high-impact federal environment. You will assist the CIO's IT Audit Management Team in managing recurring and ad-hoc audit and inspection cycles, including FISMA, Financial Statement Audits, and Office of Inspector General reviews. This role is critical in ensuring timely coordination, audit readiness, and remediation efforts across agency systems.

Required Skills

  • Independently manage audit response reviews, evidence quality checks, and remediation tracking
  • Coordinate end-to-end audit lifecycle support: request receipt, tracking, stakeholder coordination, and timely response
  • Maintain audit-related documentation, including findings, corrective actions, and audit correspondence
  • Support OMB A-123 internal control testing for the Statement of Assurance
  • Create and deliver briefings and written updates to CIO leadership and audit stakeholders
  • Facilitate meetings and approval processes for audit findings and remediation plans
  • Analyze audit trends and generate reports/metrics for CIO-T leadership
  • Identify areas for process improvement and recommend best practices for implementation
  • 7-10 years of experience in IT, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of IT audit frameworks, FISMA, and OMB Circular A-123 compliance
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with internal and external audit teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline

  • Familiarity with NGA, DoD, and Intelligence Community systems and organizational structures
  • Experience supporting large-scale government audits or compliance initiatives
  • Prior work within classified or federal enterprise IT environments
