Immigration Legal Leadership
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Immigration & Global Mobility Counsel to lead our U.S. business immigration and global relocation programs. This role combines deep legal expertise with operational leadership to ensure compliance, support talent mobility, and align immigration and relocation strategies with business goals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong legal background, exceptional consulting skills, and a proven ability to manage complex, high-volume programs in a dynamic, global environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Immigration Legal Leadership
- Provide expert legal counsel on U.S. business immigration matters, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, PERM, and green card processes.
- Independently engage with USCIS, DOL, CBP, U.S. consulates, and other agencies on behalf of the company and its employees.
- Monitor regulatory changes and proactively adjust immigration strategies to ensure compliance and business continuity.
- Translate complex legal requirements into clear, actionable guidance for HR, business leaders, and employees.
- Lead internal audits and maintain accurate immigration records to support compliance and risk mitigation.
- Design and manage end-to-end domestic and international relocation and assignment programs, including policy development, vendor management, and employee support.
- Analyze market surveys and benchmarks to recommend competitive and compliant relocation practices.
- Support M&A activities by identifying and resolving mobility-related issues.
- Advise on tax, payroll, and legal implications of cross-border assignments, including ITAR/export control considerations.
- Conduct program audits, monitor vendor performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to HR, legal, and business leaders on immigration and mobility matters.
- Lead cross-functional teams and initiatives to enhance program effectiveness and employee experience.
- Develop and deliver training, communications, and tools to educate stakeholders on immigration and relocation processes.
- Prepare business cases, reports, and recommendations for executive leadership.
- Support union negotiations and compliance with collective bargaining agreements as needed.
- Decision-Making: Exercises sound legal and business judgment in high-stakes matters.
- Initiating Action: Proactively identifies needs and drives solutions with minimal oversight.

- Regulatory Mastery: Expert in U.S. immigration law and global mobility regulations.
- Consultative Influence: Builds credibility and delivers business-aligned legal solutions.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
- 10+ years of experience in U.S. business immigration law, preferably in-house or at a top-tier law firm.
- Proven experience managing high-volume immigration and relocation programs.
- Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- In-house counsel experience in aerospace, defense, or technology sectors.
- Familiarity with export control laws (e.g., ITAR) and security clearance processes.
- Knowledge of cross-border immigration issues in Canada, Mexico, and the Americas region.
