ManTech seeks a motivated and career-focused Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.
This role supports the mission by delivering critical cyber defense capabilities and helping ensure secure system operations across enterprise environments. As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer, you will be a key contributor in maintaining cyber hygiene, managing risk, and securing mission-critical data systems.

This role supports the mission by delivering critical cyber defense capabilities and helping ensure secure system operations across enterprise environments. As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer, you will be a key contributor in maintaining cyber hygiene, managing risk, and securing mission-critical data systems.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performing or reviewing technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities and non-compliance with Cyber Security Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations, and recommending effective mitigation strategies
- Supporting security authorization activities in accordance with ICD 503, the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), and relevant Intelligence Community security engineering processes
- Reviewing certification and accreditation (C&A) documentation for completeness and compliance, and supporting system security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and management
- Developing, documenting, and maintaining cybersecurity policies in line with ICD 504 procedures
- Using cybersecurity tools and platforms including SEIM Tools, ACAS, Nessus, SCAP, and HBSS to monitor and strengthen security posture
- Contributing to planning, assessment, risk management, and certification tasks for both system and networking operations
- Supporting both graphical user interface (GUI) and command line interface (CLI) operations within Linux environments, preferably with Red Hat v8.0
- Utilizing two to four years of experience in Windows Server 2016 and 2019 environments, including Active Directory management, Server Roles configuration, and administration of Access Rights and Security Groups
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of additional experience in lieu of degree
- 5+ years of cybersecurity experience
- Demonstrated experience as an Information Security Systems Engineer (ISSE) within the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense
- Proficiency using SIEM tools such as ACAS, Nessus, and SCAP
- Proven track record in applying the DoD/IC Risk Management Framework to develop and enhance cybersecurity systems
- Strong working knowledge of key security standards and policies including NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 4, SP 800-37 Rev. 2, FIPS-199, and DHS 4300A
- Ability to evaluate vulnerabilities and ensure system compliance within a cybersecurity framework
- Active Security+, CISSP, CISM, or CISA certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Deep familiarity with Red Hat v8.0 and enterprise-level Linux system operations
- Advanced experience with Windows Server architecture and Active Directory integration
- Ability to work across interdisciplinary teams to support secure system integration and operations
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
