The Opportunity:
As a Small Group Instructor/Mentor you will educate, coach, and mentor student Soldiers attending the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School (USAJFKSWCS), Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF) Captains Career Course (CCC). You will participate in planning, development, review, and revision of Program of Instruction (POI), curriculum, and Training Support Package (TSP) supporting 2nd Special Warfare Training Group and approved ARSOF Captains Career Course courseware. You will educate, coach, mentor, and prepare student Soldiers for success in increased levels of leadership, responsibility, and accountability within the Special Forces, Civil Affairs, and Psychological Operations career fields.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. Responsibilities:
- Serve as Instructor/Mentor for ARSOF Captains Career Course (CCC).
- Develop new and/or revised training and testing materials in support of Program of Instruction (POI) and curriculum.
- Participate in planning, developing, evaluating current POI and curriculum, and recommend revisions to adapt and/or update POI and curriculum.
- Update and adapt lesson plans to incorporate computer based, simulation, practical exercises, and alternative methods of delivery for adult learning.
- Adjust instructional methods to accommodate or resolve student and/or source material problems, last minute schedule changes, equipment malfunctions or lack of supplies.
- Participates in panel discussions, seminars, and conferences.
- Maintain student attendance roster, assess student classroom activities and participation.
- Introduces innovative and new approaches to established classroom techniques.
- Prepare and administers formal/informal tests or quizzes.
- Counsel students in the areas of performance, deportment, attitude, or participation, provide feedback with professional and personal development recommendations.
- Encourage students to develop confidence and become learners that are more independent, advise/mentor students so they may achieve academic success.
- Advise students on goal setting, cognitive control and stress management.
- Participate in physical fitness training, Special Forces/Special Operations ranges and field exercises when appropriate, or as part of lesson/curriculum.
- Develop training materials, training plans, training reviews, and/or presentations with Microsoft Office software to include PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Conduct program evaluations, revisions, and recommendations through observation of program instruction, exercises, and field operations.
- Perform instruction, training, and education in field environments requiring movement/transportation via watercraft, aircraft, and/or ground vehicular means.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Current Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university.
- Successfully served as a Company Grade Officer (Detachment Commander) within Army Special Operations (Active Component Special Forces, Psychological Operations, or Civil Affairs).
- Pass the instructor certification examination.
- Faculty Development Program I (FDP) qualified or willing to go TDY to become qualified.
- Physically able to conduct cardio and weight training.
- Willing and able to travel TDY for engagements related to the course.
- Willing to work flexible hours in various garrison and field environments.
- Demonstrated familiarization with the Army Training Management Program and large-scale, enterprise-wide training programs.
Desired:
- Master's degree from accredited college or university.
- Demonstrated familiarization with the Army Training Management Program and large-scale, enterprise-wide training programs.
- Demonstrated operational or institutional training domain experience and integration across Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership & Education, Personnel, and Facilities (DOTMLPF).
- Experience integrating information, analysis, technology, and interagency collaboration, lessons learned, and best practices for training support to enable effective and efficient dissemination of threat training.
