A Day in the Life – What You’ll Do
Lead end-to-end development of mission-level combat simulations using AFSIM and related frameworks
Design and script highly complex scenarios, models, and behaviors to support OPIR and missile defense initiatives
Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and government stakeholders in a dynamic Agile environment
Integrate advanced C++, Python, or SysML programming into modeling pipelines to enhance simulation fidelity and performance
Is This You?
10+ years of experience in modeling & simulation, systems engineering, or operations research
7+ years of direct experience with AFSIM scenario development (advanced-level scripting preferred)
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, or another STEM discipline (Master’s + 8 years also accepted)
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
Self-starter with a mission-focused mindset, eager to lead simulation initiatives critical to defense systems
Core Skills and Tools
Primary Tools & Frameworks:
AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation Integration and Modeling)
Mission-Level Simulation Tools (NGTS, OneSAF, ITASE, etc.)
Alternative Simulation Environments (STORM, Simulink, MATLAB, MBSE)
Programming & Scripting:
C++ (advanced proficiency)
Python
SysML
Agile software development methodologies
Additional Capabilities:
Scenario modeling and behavior scripting
OPIR and Missile Defense domain knowledge
Familiarity with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Operational Analysis
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor of Science + 10 years of relevant experience, or
Master of Science + 8 years of relevant experience
Clearance: Active TS/SCI
Experience:
7 years minimum AFSIM experience; partial substitution with other frameworks may be considered
Strong background in simulation scripting and defense-related mission modeling
