Blu Omega is seeking a mission-driven Software Engineer with a passion for building high-impact technical solutions in support of national security. If you're excited about leveraging modern cloud-native tools and technologies to solve complex data and integration challenges, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
Develop scalable microservices, data pipelines, and automation tools to support analytical workflows.
Use software engineering best practices to improve and modernize mission-critical applications.
Automate manual tasks using a variety of programming and scripting languages.
Build and deploy robust backend solutions using containers, message queues, and serverless architectures.
Design, develop, and support web services and cloud-based data storage solutions.
Maintain and improve code integrity, test coverage, and deployment pipelines in a DevOps environment.
Provide Tier 3 support for deployed systems and collaborate on solutions that directly impact national security.
Coordinate deployments and feature rollouts; document procedures and contribute to release planning.
Participate in off-hours deployments as needed (evening/weekend).
Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of experience is required.
Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Proficiency in cloud-native technologies and AWS services including Lambda, SQS/SNS, and NiFi.
Hands-on knowledge of secure development practices including public key encryption and digital certificates.
Strong background in object-oriented programming, scripting, and database interaction.
Familiarity with Python, Groovy, and Shell scripting.
Solid understanding of automated testing tools (e.g., Mocha/Chai, JUnit, NUnit, TestNG).
Experience with message brokers (Kafka, JMS) and push notification architectures.
Comfortable working with Git and CI/CD tools in a collaborative DevOps team.
Interest in exploring new technologies and contributing to mission-first innovation.
Salary Range: $140K - $145K
Our final salary offer will be based on several factors, including depth of technical skills, work experience, education, certifications, and clearance
