The candidate will function as a CONUS-Augmentation Field Engineer with the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Missile Defense System. As support personnel, you will be ready to deploy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in support of any surge operations or extended absences with any of the permanent Contractor Logistic Support (CLS) personnel. You will be capable of temporarily fulfilling any CLS position when needed. When not deployed to KSA, you will remain CONUS supporting other KSA tasks, which includes the support in the training of KSA CLS personnel in preparation for their deployment. Additionally, you will support as follows until deployed: System Integration and Check Out (SICO), out of White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), New Mexico, and support the KSA Logistics Operations Center (KLOC), out of Huntsville, Alabama. You will assist the customer in the operation and maintenance of the THAAD Fire Control & Communication (TFCC) Systems and THAAD Launching Station in accordance with established Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), Technical Manuals (TMs), policies, procedures, and processes. The candidate will be a member of a support team and will perform all duties under direct supervision and cross-train to gain proficiency working with other elements of the THAAD system.

Responsibilities

  • Candidate could be deployed to any KSA THAAD site as required.
  • Provides field and sustainment level maintenance support to KSA THAAD Fire Units.
  • Supports the System Integration and Check Out (SICO) from White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), New Mexico.
  • Supports the customer in managing and monitoring the maintenance and sustainment program to include scheduling services, system upgrades, and modifications.
  • Assists with training KSA maintainer/operators in accordance with the CLS training program.
  • Performs all maintenance actions and failure troubleshooting that are above the level of the Enhanced Operator/Maintainers (EOM) to include but not limited to: software, hardware, interconnecting cabling, electrical system, and networks.
  • Creates, updates and completes Maintenance Actions within allotted time and verify completeness and accuracy of maintenance reports.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading and comprehending electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Identifies issues, develops, and submits investigation reports to assist program engineers with design changes.
  • Maintains and sustains THAAD Training Devices and related software.
  • Handles and inspects electrostatic sensitive devices.
  • If required, the ability to work in an austere environment with limited western amenities.
  • Supports remote maintenance activities.
  • Supplies support requirements for fielded THAAD batteries.
  • Monitors and reports operations, battery status, readiness optimization, supply-chain-status.
  • Provides administration functions in support of THAAD KSA Batteries.
  • Monitors levels of critical parts; reports inventory levels to senior managers and recommend parts allocation.
  • Qualification as a member of a missile transport team and a Missile Surveillance test team.
  • Coordinates Engineering reach-back support of Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) Field Service Representative (FSR) maintenance activities.
  • Gathers, maintains, analyzes and stores sustainment data.
  • Validates accuracy, consistency, and completeness of Maintenance Actions submitted by FSRs.
  • Research maintenance procedures and provides documentation.
  • Coordinates field level cooperation among deployed CLS Teams.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years Air Defense technician experience with field & sustainment operations, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs.
  • U.S citizenship.
  • Able to obtain U.S. Passport.
  • Must possess an active security clearance SECRET level or higher.
  • Must pass a background check to include criminal and drug test.
  • Able to meet the requirements for residence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or the ability to obtain it within five months of hiring.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with THAAD or Patriot System(s).
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Ability to establish and maintain networks (e.g., LAN, WAN, IP address schemes).
  • Working knowledge of Unix and Linux.
  • Basic electrical / mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to apply fault detection / fault isolation procedures.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic operations.
  • Basic understanding of the Army Supply System.
  • Ability to apply appropriate Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation
  • Ability to manage and account for inventory.
  • Knowledge or experience with U.S. Army Material Maintenance Management.
  • Experience in Mideast/Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) providing sustaining and/or training support.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
