SAVA is seeking to fill a critical Information Technology position in support of our customer the United States Coast Guard.

As a Network Administrator II, you will analyze network characteristics such as traffic patterns, connection times, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and overall throughput. You will assist senior network engineers with the installation, removal and modification of network components, as well as provide support to users and coordinate with third-party vendors. Responsibilities

  • Deliver ongoing network support, addressing availability issues, resolving performance problems, and providing overall Tier II technical support.
  • Monitor and manage network performance; diagnose issues and perform tuning activities to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to maintain high-quality transmission services.
  • Generate and deliver reports on network performance, highlighting recurring issues, root causes, and strategies for improving availability and reliability.
  • Implement and coordinate network policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Enforce established network security protocols and procedures.
  • Work under general supervision, providing solutions to technical problems of moderate complexity and scope.
  • Interpret alerts generated by network monitoring tools.
  • Monitor network stability and performance to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Coordinate communications between internal teams and external stakeholders to support network operations and project objectives.

Qualifications

  • Active DOD Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree with 2 - 4 years of experience, or a master's degree with at least 1 year of experience in network management and general IT support or administration.
  • WAN troubleshooting and problem determination skills, including experience with technologies such as ISDN, ATM, and SONET.
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of infrastructure equipment, including Cisco and Juniper devices.
  • Knowledge of network analysis and monitoring tools such as Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), and Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM).
  • Experience with hardware and software configuration management
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding customer service, strong technical expertise, a solid work ethic, and a commitment to supporting the mission of the United States Coast Guard.
  • Ability to support a rotating shift schedule.

Desired Skills:
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional (CCNA/CCNP).
  • Microsoft Technology Associate certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology field.
