ASRC Federal System Solutions is seeking a Network Communications Engineer to support the design, implementation, and sustainment of mission-critical network infrastructures across the Boulder Ground Innovation Facility (BGIF), OPIR TAP Lab, and its extension at the Overhead Persistent Infrared Battlespace Awareness Center (OBAC), Buckley Space Force Base, CO. This position is contingent upon final contract award.

Top-Level Position Description
The Network Communications Engineer is responsible for ensuring secure, reliable, and high-availability network connectivity across complex, multi-enclave environments. This role supports U.S. Space Force missions by enabling resilient communication paths between on-prem data centers, cloud environments, and external DoD interfaces, including JWICS, SIPR, and Mesh-One-T.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineer and maintain network infrastructure across BGIF, OPIR TAP Lab, OBAC, and planned extensions
  • Implement, test, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN architectures and enclave-specific routing schemes
  • Manage high-bandwidth, high-availability communication links (e.g., 10G+ circuits, M1T 100G links) supporting DevSecOps, AI/ML, and mission applications
  • Support integration of new network connections (e.g., JWICS, Cloud IL-5/IL-6 environments)
  • Conduct proactive network monitoring, configuration management, and performance optimization
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with COMSEC, DoD cybersecurity policies, and enclave accreditation requirements
  • Coordinate with SSC/SNGT Government leadership, tenant programs, and third-party vendors to execute changes and expansions
  • Provide technical support for tenant onboarding and enclave configuration planning
  • Generate network diagrams, one-lines, and artifacts in support of ATO packages and CM baselines
  • Track and manage cryptologic hardware and link encryption devices in collaboration with COMSEC custodians
  • Support documentation, fault response, and after-action reviews for any network-affecting incidents
  • Maintain awareness of evolving technologies and make recommendations for modernization or recapitalization


Job Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI and CI Poly
  • 7+ years' experience in network engineering within DoD or mission-critical environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Security+, CNNP, CASP+, SCCP+ certifications
  • Strong hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs in classified enclave contexts
  • Experience with DISA STIG compliance, RMF support documentation, and enclave boundary design
  • Familiarity with enterprise tools like SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, or equivalent network monitoring platforms
  • Ability to work on-site in Boulder, CO with occasional travel to Buckley SFB
  • Comfortable interfacing with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to resolve cross-functional issues


Preferred Requirements
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Juniper Networks Certified Specialist, or similar certifications
  • Experience with cross-domain solutions, encrypted link management, or hybrid-cloud connectivity
  • Familiarity with Platform One environments and AI/ML workload integration
  • Working knowledge of cryptologic devices and COMSEC integration
  • Familiarity with government configuration management systems such as Sunbird dcTrack
  • Exposure to agile team structures and backlog-driven infrastructure delivery
