ASRC Federal System Solutions is seeking a Facility Engineer - HVAC Certified to support operations at the Boulder Ground Innovation Facility (BGIF), a high-resiliency infrastructure supporting OPIR TAP Lab and key U.S. Space Force (USSF) missions in Boulder, Colorado. This position is contingent upon final contract award.

This individual plays a pivotal role in maintaining environmental stability to support OPIR data processing, AI/ML compute loads, and high-availability infrastructure at BGIF.

Top-Level Position Description
The HVAC Certified Facility Engineer ensures optimal performance and uptime of climate control systems critical to mission assurance across classified/unclassified server rooms, workspaces, and secure environments. This individual plays a pivotal role in maintaining environmental stability to support OPIR data processing, AI/ML compute loads, and high-availability infrastructure at BGIF.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC systems, including CRAC units, building environmental controls, server room cooling infrastructure, and emergency ventilation systems.
- Maintain a 99.96%+ uptime standard for climate control systems supporting mission-critical enclaves.
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance (PM) cycles on all cooling and heating equipment.
- Support execution of the BGIF Maintenance Plan and Contingency Plan, including cooling outages, air filtration issues, or overheating risks.
- Lead seasonal changeovers, refrigerant management, and system performance testing.
- Participate in quarterly scheduled downtime and align maintenance windows with mission scheduling to limit disruptions.
- Support documentation and configuration management updates through the Sunbird dcTrack system.
- Coordinate with Lockheed Martin facility representatives for cross-tenant environmental controls.
- Generate redlines and engineering inputs for facility upgrades or reconfigurations.
- Maintain supply of HVAC consumables including filters, refrigerants, cleaning supplies, and mission-spare parts.
- Support emergency response and reporting requirements for all HVAC incidents.
Job Requirements
- Current Active TS/SCI
- Valid HVAC Certification (EPA Section 608 Universal Certification or equivalent state licensure)
- Minimum 8+ years hands-on experience with HVAC systems supporting critical infrastructure or DoD environments
- Familiarity with precision cooling systems for server/data centers (e.g., Liebert, Stulz, or equivalent CRAC systems)
- Knowledge of building management systems (BMS) and automated environmental control platforms
- Comfortable operating under facility SOPs, emergency plans (EAPs), and Air Force fire and safety codes
- High School Diploma (HD) or GED required
- Availability to support full-time on-site operations (Monday-Friday, 0800-1600) and off-hours contingency response
Preferred Requirements
- Experience supporting Air Force or Space Force facilities, particularly SCIF or SIPR/NIPR environments
- Familiarity with USSF and SSC infrastructure requirements for resiliency and climate compliance
- OSHA-30, NFPA 90A/B, or HVAC system controls training
- Ability to support engineering change proposals, facility upgrades, and tenant expansion planning
- Experience with facilities uptime monitoring, reporting, and fault documentation procedures
- Working knowledge of dcTrack or other digital CM systems used for facility systems oversight
