The LAN/IT Manager oversees the actions necessary to configure, operate and maintain customer networked LAN computers, servers, routers, switches, battery UPS, LMR base and mobile radio equipment, and station PBX telephone switching equipment.

Responsibilities

  • The installation and maintenance of station copper and fiber optic communications cables, inside and outside of buildings.
  • Testing and troubleshooting hardware and software problems pertaining to the LAN, recommends and schedules repairs.
  • End user support for all LAN-based applications.
  • Installation and configuration of site workstations and servers.
  • Installation of NOTAMS and software patches.
  • Preventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI) activities are accomplished as scheduled.
  • Performance all required systems administration on mission related equipment.
  • Provides on-the-job training to trainees as assigned or directed.
  • Performs other collateral duties as assigned or directed.
  • Backup Manager to Chief of Operations.

Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain an active Secret security clearance.
  • Minimum High School diploma or US equivalent. Associates degree in Electronics strongly preferred; directly related electronics work experience can be in lieu of Associate's degree in Electronics.
  • Minimum 2 years IT systems work experience.
  • Minimum 1 year IT management/supervisory experience.
  • Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to lead employees in a team environment.
  • Must have strong verbal skills with ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Experience interfacing with military personnel and government customers.
  • Must be able to climb high ladders, work on elevated platforms and antennas.
  • Must be able to perform strenuous physical work to include walking, lifting, pulling loads, bending, kneeling, sitting and reaching overhead.
  • Position may require additional government certifications as necessary.
  • Full Time - Primarily Day Shift (Mon-Fri) with additional hours as required by mission or contract.

Desired Qualifications:
  • At least one IAW DoD 8570 Level II or Level III certification (e.g.Security+)
