Hardware / Software Specialist
S2Technologies is currently seeking qualified candidates to join our team as a Hardware/Software Specialist with specific expertise in Cisco network infrastructure. In this role, you will review and evaluate computer systems, emphasizing machine capabilities and user interfaces. You will prepare detailed reports and studies on hardware and software configurations, staying informed about emerging operational technologies and industry trends. Your primary focus will be on managing and maintaining Cisco network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Experience/Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and maintain Cisco network switches, routers, and servers.
• Create, implement, and maintain firewall and security measures, including patch management and compliance checks.
• Monitor network systems proactively to optimize performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve networking issues, clearly communicating resolutions to team members and stakeholders.
• Implement disaster recovery procedures and ensure backup and recovery strategies are current and effective.
• Maintain current knowledge of Cisco networking hardware, software, and security best practices.
• Extensive hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Cisco switches, routers, and Cisco-based servers.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain and enhance network performance and security in complex environments.
• Proficient in network performance monitoring tools and techniques.
Education:
• Preferred bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Certifications:
• IAT Level II certification required.
Security Clearance:
• Active Top Secret Clearance required.
