The Instructional Developer is responsible for Provide scheduling, technical, engineering, and analytical support for Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of Aegis operator training programs, including Computer Aided Submode Training (CAST) lessons, Lesson Generation Program (LGP), and other Interactive Courseware (ICW). Responsibilities include conducting IV&V assessments at various government sites, identifying and documenting curriculum/code discrepancies, maintaining configuration control databases, and preparing detailed reports on lesson status and history.
They will play a supporting role in achieving the organizations goals by Ensuring operator training materials meet Personal Qualifications Standards (PQS) and are properly documented and maintained.
This position will directly impact Fleet training by providing in-depth analysis and traceability of training lesson performance against system specifications, supporting program enhancements and development decisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES
The project duties include providing scheduling, technical, engineering, and analytical services in support of Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) and documentation of operator training including Computer Aided Sub-mode Training (CAST) lessons, Lesson Generation Program (LGP), and other Interactive Courseware (ICW).
Conducts IV&V of Aegis Baseline (B/L) specific CAST (operator training) lessons using Government furnished computer equipment located at CSCS, Dahlgren, VA; CSEDS, Moorestown, NJ; Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC), Wallops Island, VA; and/or Fleet operating units. Assesses CAST lesson performance to assist in the definition of program enhancements and to support development decisions.
Independently identifies and documents CAST curriculum/code discrepancies and provides reports to CSCS for collaborative review and adjudication.
Maintains CAST lessons to AEGIS Personal Qualifications Standards (PQS) cross-reference, and CAST lessons configuration control databases.
Develops, reviews, and/or delivers CAST lesson configuration status and CAST lesson history reports. Maintains the operator training lesson documentation for each B/L on an approved media in a format compatible with Government computer systems.
Provides detailed analysis of all IV&V activities including documentation of line-by-line traceability between CAST performance in comparison to Combat System (CS) interface, design, and/or performance specifications.
BASIC SKILLS
Four (4+) plus years of experience in:
Knowledge and experience with U.S. Navy Aegis shipboard Combat Systems, specifically sub-mode operation/utilization.
Familiarity with IV&V review, conduct/testing, and analysis principles and practices.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
GED and/or equivalent years of experience
