Position Overview
QSS is seeking a Systems Administrator with a DevOps focus to support the maintenance
of legacy applications and assist in the transition to a new system architecture. The ideal
candidate will be a skilled technologist with a strong background in cloud-agnostic
environments, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines. This is a mission-critical role
based in Reston, VA, and requires a TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
Key Responsibilities
• Support and maintain legacy applications while contributing to the development of
a modern system architecture.
• Enhance DevOps processes, implement CI/CD pipelines, and integrate automated
testing tools.
• Manage and deploy containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Work in agile teams to deliver solutions that meet mission and technical
requirements.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure scripts and tooling for cloud-agnostic
deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support secure, scalable, and
automated solutions.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of DevOps experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Proven experience supporting cloud-agnostic environments.
• Integration of automated testing tools into CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in Linux operating systems.
• Experience scripting and automating cloud service functions.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Proficient in Git for version control.
Education Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is
required.
• Additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a degree on a year-
for-year basis.
Preferred Skills
• Experience building security-hardened container images.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
• Exposure to secure government or intelligence community environments.
