We are seeking a highly motivated Range Capability Management Support to support our USAF HQ ACC contract on Langley AFB, VA. The Range Capability Management Support provides HQ ACC A5/8/9 functional onsite support to include: establishment of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) standards, generation of requirements for Cross Domain Solutions for Combat Air Force (CAF) Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) and Live, Virtual & Constructive (LVC) training programs; generation of requirements for CAF DMO training centers to include Distributed Training Center, USAF Warfare Center Virtual Test & Training Center (VTTC) and any future efforts; development of capability requirements for Fighters, Bombers, and C2ISR DMO and LVC platforms, integration of F-16, F-15, Fifth Generation aircraft, and Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) systems into Mission Training Centers (MTC).

Responsibilities
  • Assist in management of requirements for Combat Air Forces (CAF) live training ranges, including threat systems, Air Combat Training System (ACTS) pods and infrastructure, and range control systems.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of existing CAF ranges, CAF training needs (as established by the ACC Enterprise Range Plan), and Programs of Record for CAF ranges. This includes, but is not limited to, the Advanced Radar Threat Simulator (ARTS) Family of Systems, P5 and future P6 Combat Training Systems, and Live Mission Operations Center (LMOC).
  • Provide technical and analytical support to the HQ ACC/A5TR staff in the development and integration of requirements into existing and/or planned systems.
  • Assist in planning documents and activities such as investment needs, various acquisition activities, requirements development, requirements prioritization, and developmental planning.
  • Provide technical and analytical assistance including evaluating operational requirements and analyzing capabilities gaps.
  • Provide development, analysis, and process assistance in all POM activities and follow-on initial distribution, execution plans, unfunded requirement validations, and travel requirements.
  • Assist in the development, validation, and coordination of varied requirements documents including AF Forms 1067, Initial Capabilities Documents (ICD), Capability Development Documents (CDD), Capability Production Documents (CPD), and Capstone Requirements Documents (CRD).
  • Create and maintain program documents and files such as spreadsheets, databases, briefing slides, and correspondence.
  • Advise ACC/A5T on cost/schedule/technical issues, transition strategies, project schedules, program plans, and other time-sensitive documents.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Top Secret clearance, must be able to obtain and maintain SCI and SAP
    • This position requires the successful applicant to obtain and maintain the required security clearance or other authorization(s) within the necessary timeframe required by applicable contract(s).
  • Experience: Must have a minimum 3 years' experience in each of the following with 5 years' experience in one of the following:
    • Experience at MAJCOM or higher-level staff position (combination of active duty, government service, or contractor)
    • Experience in M&S , DMO , and LVC
    • Experience designing, planning, preparing, executing, and providing documented assessments of DMO and other combat readiness programs or plans
    • Experience in producing reports to indicate investigation methodology, evaluation processes, and recommendations for new LVC technologies and training concepts for inclusion into CAF's DMO and other readiness programs
    • Experience working in Requirements, Operations, and/or SPO capabilities and responsibilities
  • Experience providing analytical and conceptual studies on readiness-related efforts and LVC technologies.
  • Experience analyzing technical and operational impacts, cost, and training benefit of proposed changes in a resource-constrained environment and propose changes to programs to MAJCOM level leadership to meet operational capabilities and addressing operational needs.
  • Experience participating and collaborating on DMO/LVC and M&S working groups and meetings to develop possible solutions for integration and interoperability problems.
  • Experience with JCIDS staffing processes and requirements development.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting high level briefings, Bullet Background Papers (BBPs), and Technical Reports
  • Knowledge of CAF Training Requirements


Schedule
  • Core hours are from 0800-1700 M-F - you can work with your customer leadership to set hours
  • You can flex time during the 2 week pay cycle - avoid using PTO for appointments
  • A compressed work schedule may be available at the discretion of work center leadership (i.e. 4/10 or 9/80)
