• Create and optimize PostGIS-enabled schemas and geo-temporal queries for high-speed data retrieval.
• Define and implement complex security protocols for data filtering and redaction
• Translate data models into normalized, relational schemas aligned with application requirements.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate and optimize database access via JPA/Hibernate and other persistence frameworks.
• Tune performance through advanced indexing, partitioning, and query optimization techniques.
• Set up and manage database environments, including schema version control and migration support.
• Establish secure, efficient structures to support evolving development needs and future scalability.
Qualifications You Must Have
• Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

• CompTIA Security+ certification (required for privileged access).
Qualifications We Prefer
• Architecture experience: the ability to design schemas (and migrate schemas in place).
• Experience setting up and optimizing AWS Aurora PostgreSQL environments.
• Experience of relational data modeling and schema versioning in support of software development.
• Experience with security, setting up RLS, session and permissions management, experience with column or cell level security a plus
• Experience with query optimization, mapping tables to blocks and partitions, sub-table structure and keying/indexing for efficiency
• Experience with PostGIS, ability to optimize geo temporal queries and indexes
• Java Persistence (JPA) experience and an understanding of the coupling between+ JPA structure and the Database.
• Experience managing an operationally fielded Database while simultaneously being under further development
• Experience with JPA/Hibernate structures and how they interact with the underlying database.
• Experience supporting classified or government systems with strict security requirements.
• Exposure to DevOps practices related to database deployment and automation.
• Experience as the sole or lead database expert on a development team.
• Familiarity with source control systems (e.g., Git/Bitbucket) and CI/CD integration.
• Familiarity with Java-based software ecosystems and schema integration in microservice architecture.
