COMPUTER OPERATOR I

CLASSIFICATION: Computer Operator I
GRADE: Non- Exempt; Regular
LOCATION : Eglin Air Force Base, FL- On Site
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Uses web-based software programs, office software programs, databases, and reports, in accordance with operating instructions to ensure data submitted by contract and government personnel is accurate through automated and manual validations as well as customer communication and coordination. Validates and processes timesheet, aerospace fuel, equipment usage, and material charges for government cost accounting on a daily and bi-monthly basis.
GENERAL DUTIES:
OTHER DUTIES : May be required to perform general housekeeping duties to assigned work areas.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a high school graduate with a minimum of six-months training or experience in a computer-related environment. Desired to have experience working on local area network computer operations; Eglin Range operations; general knowledge of test and training ranges and sites; and some experience with the elements of time and cost reporting such as Eglin O&M Timekeeping, Supply, Mission Equipment Utilization and/or the Center Scheduling Enterprise (CSE) system.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS : Candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives; observes company quality, safety, environmental, security and administrative policies; supports process improvement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work activities will normally be performed in a well-lighted, environmentally controlled atmosphere.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures on both paper and computer monitors; requires very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials.

- Works under close guidance and instruction of a more experienced operator.
- Works in a networked data environment to run specialized data processing applications such as Material and Other, Manhours Web, Aero Web, O&M Equipment Reporting (OMER), Center Scheduling Enterprise (CSE), Historical Mission Information (HMI), and Detailed Cost Information (DCI).
- Collects and enters data from internal and external organizations.
- Assists with validating and processing data on a semi-monthly basis using web applications in preparation for submission into the Job Order Cost Accounting System.
- Resolves data errors daily either individually or with assistance of a senior operator, through research, coordination with other MIS personnel, and interaction with customers Cross-checks the work of other operators as needed.
- Collects, organizes, and files electronic and physical documents and reports for traceability and historical purposes.
- Learn new computer skills or other skills as needed and assists in improving processes to support organizational process improvement.
- Conducts testing of new or modified software programs and assists software developers in defining program modifications.
