We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Developer to lead data operations in support of a federal agency’s mission-critical objectives. This role will drive the implementation and oversight of a comprehensive data management framework ensuring data integrity, accessibility, security, and performance across systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Data Management Framework
Conduct assessments of current data environments.

Design and document enterprise data management frameworks.

Develop and maintain a central data repository with robust governance controls.

Data Integrity & Security
Implement automated data validation and quality rules.

Develop access control and user permission models.

Align efforts with the DHS Data Council for compliance and standards.

Establish disaster recovery and data backup protocols.

Automation & Optimization
Build and maintain automated pipelines for data collection, storage, and processing.

Integrate tools for automated reporting and analytics (including ML/AI models where applicable).

Develop scalable, automated workflows for repetitive data operations tasks.

Data Maintenance & Accessibility
Maintain and update data dictionaries with historical change logs.

Standardize naming conventions and data definitions across platforms.

Ensure easy access to data and reports for stakeholders via clear documentation and UI features.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Experience
15+ years of federal data support and database development experience.

Deep expertise with relational and non-relational database management systems.

Proven success designing and implementing enterprise data architectures.

Technical Skills (Required)
Advanced knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and database performance tuning.

Experience with data modeling, data analysis, and data governance best practices.

Familiarity with database platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or cloud equivalents (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).

Expertise in implementing ETL processes, data validation routines, and backup solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with cloud database services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Familiarity with federal data privacy and security compliance (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST).

Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, AWS Certified Database Specialty).

Experience developing reports and dashboards with tools like Tableau or Power BI.

Additional Information:
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with federal stakeholders and technical teams.

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Demonstrated commitment to data integrity, system reliability, and continuous improvement.
