Job Description:
Provides the lead management role responsible for local mission system data center with support from the Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Information System (IS), system and network engineers and facilities staff. Supports on-site personnel in maintaining functionality of C3PED A/V (audio/visual) and UCS (Unified Communications System) (identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any failures). Provides assistance with analyzing, identifying and resolving issues effecting network functionality and connectivity supporting the UCS system.

Job Description:

Provides assistance with analyzing, identifying and resolving issues effecting network functionality and connectivity supporting the UCS system.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain configuration and change control of assigned data centers and ensure they meet availability requirements. This includes oversight of data center plans, designs, changes, monitoring, maintenance, incident responses and data center infrastructure operations
- Walk through local data centers multiple times per day to check for non-standard conditions or configurations based on a standardized checklist
- Supervise and perform data center planning and implementation activities
- Work with civil engineering, facilities managers, facilities operational managers and industrial maintenance engineers to ensure data center availability
- Maintain data center infrastructure information in the 480 ISRW DCIM IS including: operational asset and spare inventory information, electrical consumption, heat load, cabinet and equipment weight information and rack space used by each device in each cabinet
- Develop a long-range plan for the management and assignment of power and HVAC load
- Publish and maintain plans and procedures for prioritizing and implementing the shedding and restoration of electrical load should problems with the air conditioning or electrical services occur
- Provide data center reporting to meet the requirements described in the DCOI, 480 ISRWI 17-101, the 480 ISRW Data Center Architecture Framework (see paragraph 2.7), and as required by local Command leadership
- Maintain functionality of C3PED A/V systems (identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any failures)
- Assist USAF on-site personnel with any C3PED A/V equipment issues and provide training to the same on operation of conference rooms or other equipment
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on C3PED A/V and UCS systems
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems to include network services, operating system patches, and application software patches
- Provide, maintain, log, and update any outages, failures, and resolutions to on-site government lead and C3PED Project Manager
- Participate in bi-monthly meeting with C3PED team led by the C3PED Project Manager.
- Assist with maintaining IA site system level accreditation with DAA. Perform IA scans, configure and mitigate vulnerabilities and upload results and changes into XACTA
- Maintain up-to-date equipment inventory, software list, tech manuals, test procedures, and system architecture drawings. Record serial numbers of new equipment and equipment that breaks and/or is replaced. Complete bi-annual inventory of all equipment to provide to the C3PED Project Manager
- Perform all required software updates on C3PED A/V and UCS systems (especially antivirus software)
- Provide monthly reports to the C3PED Project Manager and weekly reports to the Enterprise Data Center Operations Manager
Required Qualifications:
- DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CCNA Security, etc.)
- Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting drawings, specifications, blueprints, and other related documents
- Ability to work independently and multi-task among multiple assigments
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and orally) at all organizational levels in a professional demeanor
- Knowledgeable in the following fields within the past 5 years
- Assembly of equipment/devices using the appropriate supports/mount
- Cable installation/termination (Fiber, copper, etc.)
- Minimum four (4) years' experience in operation and maintenance of audio/video equipment; ten (10) years preferred.
- A knowledge base consisting of installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows OS systems, VMware and system admin related tasks
- Experience installing low voltage wiring and cable; solder and terminate connectors; wire equipment racks
- Experience with integration of audio and video teleconferencing systems

- Crestron DMC-E Training certification
- VMware Certified
- A knowledge base consisting of expertise in virtual computing/networking and/or Unified Communications
