ASRC Federal Communications is seeking a Carpenter for our ISS2 contract supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located at Eareckson Air Station (EAS).
Position Summary
The Carpenter performs general carpentry and assorted duties necessary to maintain, repair, or upgrade facilities, structures, and utilities.

The employee must regularly talk and hear to understand instructions, provide information, and respond to safety warnings. Work conditions require the employee to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, taste or smell, and work on scaffolding and ladders. The employee may lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance and lift and move heavier objects with assistance.

The Carpenter performs general carpentry and assorted duties necessary to maintain, repair, or upgrade facilities, structures, and utilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Perform all types of rough and finish carpentry inside and outside of buildings.
- Constructs, repairs, modifies, and maintains housing, commercial, and industrial buildings.
- Maintains, repairs, and replaces doors, woodwork, paneling, drywall, floor covering, and replaces broken windows, etc.
- Installs, repairs, modifies, and opens a variety of locking mechanisms found on doors, desks, compartments, mobile equipment, safes, and vaults.
- Examines locking mechanisms, installs new unit or disassembles unit, and replaces worn tumblers, springs, and other parts or repairs them by filing, drilling, chiseling, and grinding.
- Opens door locks by moving the lock pick in a cylinder or opens safe locks by listening to lock sounds or by drilling.
- Uses a vital cutting machine to make new or duplicate keys, ensuring all keys are kept in a crucial control log book.
- Maintains keying systems for buildings.
- Measures lay out or machine cuts wood, tile, plastics, and other materials.
- Uses various hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments.
- Makes standard shop computations relating to the dimensions of work.
- Uses blueprints, drawings, models, and verbal instructions to plan and lay out work.
- Assists other trades and craft personnel in their daily operations.
- Performs snow removal duties as needed.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Accountable For
- Standard safety practices and protective equipment used at a construction site.
- Standard office machinery, including copiers, fax machines, and computers.
- Understanding and following directions.
- Reading and working from blueprints and engineering drawings
- Ability to work on or from elevated platforms

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of journeyman-level carpentry experience.
- Current Locksmith Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to obtain an interim security clearance and maintain a secret clearance.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship program.
- Journeyman Carpenter Certification.
