Job Description
Gridiron IT is looking for a RHEL System Administrator to support the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Enterprise IT as a Service (EITaaS) program.? The candidate will join a team of admins responsible for the management and advanced troubleshooting of related issues in the SIPR environment.
On the EITaaS program, Gridiron IT will deliver enhanced capabilities and services to implement and operate an enterprise ITSM solution, enterprise service desk, endpoint management and security solution, as well as CONUS/OCONUS field support and life cycle support for end user devices to enable the DAF to transition focus from IT operations to mission operations.
Responsibilities
Serve as a systems administrator for management and issues related to the RHEL servers or managed applications.? In this role, you will be responsible for following approved SOPs for known issues, as well as dynamic troubleshooting of new issues as they are reported.? This will regularly involve collaborating with other teams and stakeholders to properly identify issues, document, and test resolutions.

Manage and maintain RHEL systems in various environments (physical, virtual, cloud)
Remediate issues related to failed patches or applications and conflicts related to patching.??
High level troubleshooting of common applications and their interactions with the underlying operating systems.??
Analyze day-to-day operations and write scripts to improve daily tasks.???
Providing O&M support for supported servers
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Understanding of storage systems and backup solutions
Engage with engineering teams as necessary to field solutions
Track all relevant SLA/SLRs and provide reports as required
Collaborate with DAF enterprise and program security teams to ensure requirements are met
Communicate effectively and collaboratively with customers, stakeholders, and peers
Required Qualifications
10+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience).
Must have DoD Secret clearance
DoD 8140 compliance; Security + certification at a minimum.
Experience testing, deploying, and troubleshooting the installation of RHEL and third-party software updates
Demonstrated experience with planning, configuring, deploying, and implementing automated software and firmware patching, such as WSUS, SCCM, YUM, SolarWinds, etc. for heterogeneous operating systems environments (e.g., Microsoft Windows and Linux)
Proficiency in RHEL installation, configuration, and maintenance
Strong command-line skills and scripting abilities (Bash, Python)
Knowledge of networking protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, etc.)
Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)
Experience managing RHEL servers in a DoD environment
Experience working in a secure location managing devices on a SIPR network
Familiarity with STIG requirements
Familiarity with ITILv4
Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies
Strong skills with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, Visio) and SharePoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
These Qualifications Would Be Nice To Have:
Experience with ServiceNow
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
Familiarity with database administration
Acts independently to expose and resolve problems
Clearance

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000/yr (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
