Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Network Design and Architecture:
- Develop comprehensive network architectures that support the organization's current and future needs.
- Design scalable, resilient, and secure network solutions, including LAN, WAN, data center, and cloud networking.
Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with senior management and other stakeholders to align network strategies with business objectives.
- Conduct network assessments and gap analyses to identify opportunities for improvement.
Implementation and Integration:
- Lead the implementation of network projects, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Oversee the deployment of new network hardware, software, and services.
Performance and Optimization:
- Monitor network performance and make recommendations for improvements.
- Optimize network configurations to ensure high availability, low latency, and efficient resource utilization.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement network security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Design and enforce policies for network access, data protection, and threat mitigation.
Documentation and Standards:
- Maintain detailed documentation of network architectures, configurations, and procedures.
- Develop and enforce network standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and reliability.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work closely with other IT teams, including systems administrators, security teams, and application developers, to ensure cohesive network integration.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers and administrators.
Vendor and Technology Evaluation:
- Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and solutions to enhance the organization's capabilities.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure optimal performance and support.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
- Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the network infrastructure.
- Conduct regular testing and updates to ensure readiness in case of network failures or emergencies.
Required Clearance:
TS/SCI (#tssci)
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Extensive experience (typically 7-10+ years) in network architecture and engineering, with a strong background in designing and managing complex network environments.
- Certifications: Advanced certifications such as Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), or equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of networking technologies, protocols, and standards, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, SDN, and cloud networking.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to design efficient and effective network solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate network strategies and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Education: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale network architectures.
- In-depth knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
- Proficiency with network management tools and monitoring systems.
- Ability to lead and manage complex network projects from conception to completion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
