Shipboard Missiles is seeking an experienced Director to lead our RLPM and CORE implementation journey. This role will report to the Vice President of Shipboard Missiles and will help ensure successful program startups and executable program plans. This role works closely with Program Leadership Teams, Program Directors, and Program Managers to implement RLPM, identify execution challenges, and implement corrective actions to improve execution and overall program performance. The Director will also lead the CORE Operating System implementation, goal alignment process, and continuous improvement tool adoption initiative, serving as a SME for all RLPM and CORE activities within the portfolio.

What You Will Do:
  • Review all new awards and contract modifications for start-up requirements and conduct Startup Reviews with PLT.
  • Work with program managers and directors to implement best practices and corrective actions to improve program execution.
  • Manage open actions across the portfolio and drive ownership to accountable individuals.
  • Lead the selection, mentoring, and learning opportunities for SBM Emerging Program Management.
  • Manage RLPM Gate schedules and due dates, including pre-gate reviews.
  • Perform Execution Readiness Assessments.
  • Assist with the implementation the CORE Operating System across Shipboard Missiles SSBU.
  • Ability to obtain Program Access after starting
  • Ability to travel as needed

  • SBU & SSBU organizational structure, responsibilities amongst the programs and the functional areas, and deliverables


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years' experience
  • Prior program and or project management experience
  • Active and transferrable final U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start. US citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Program Management experience across multiple program lifecycle phases.
  • Current Program Management Level 2 Certification or higher.
  • Proposal development experience with DoD customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate complex topics both verbally and in writing.
  • Prior experience with communicating with and presenting to all levels of the organization specifically Executives
  • Working knowledge of the DoD Acquisition process.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated success working in a teaming environment with customers and internal partners.

The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
