This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

Job Description

At HII Mission Technologies, our mission is to accelerate national defense through strategic, precise operational planning. Based at Shaw AFB in Sumter, SC, you will be at the heart of ensuring mission success for the AFCENT HQ Staff. Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Strategic Operational Planning: Provide expert analysis and advise on both deliberate and crisis action planning, ensuring that plans remain actionable and updated.
  • Plan Development & Coordination: Develop, coordinate, and write base plans and annexes (e.g., Annex C - Operations; Annex J - Command Relationships). Support the full support plan (SUPLAN) for Commander approval.
  • Interagency Collaboration: Serve as a liaison with external agencies-including COCOM HQs, Joint Commands, Component Commands, and MAJCOMs-leveraging Combatant Command and HAF guidance to fine-tune recommendations for CONOP and CONEMP.
  • Leadership Updates: Prepare and deliver concise briefings to leadership on current and future operational requirements, outlining risks, limiting factors, and evolving activities.
  • Working Group Facilitation: Organize and facilitate Component Working Groups, and coordinate across Functional Areas and AEWs to align operations and contingency plans.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with HAF and other MAJCOM offices (e.g., Air Combat Command, Air Mobility Command) on routine briefings, collaborative working groups, and the development of common products and processes.
  • Data Administration: Manage and administer data repositories (websites, SharePoint, C2IE) across secure networks (NIPR, SIPR, etc.) to support plan accessibility and distribution.
  • Support & Documentation: Assist HQ staff with task management, handle routine inquiries, and contribute to the development and distribution of written guidance (e.g., policy letters, letters of instruction, business rules) that enhance MAJCOM/COCOM planning.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure that all planning activities adhere to the current MAJCOM policies, AFFOR Staff Operations and Readiness, and MAJCOM Operations Division guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.

Relevant Experience:

  • A minimum of three years with Military Aviation Unit Type Codes (UTCs) and force packaging.
  • Three years' experience in a USAF MAJCOM or HHQ staff position (or equivalent service experience).

Technical Proficiency:

  • At least three years of experience using Microsoft Office applications, email systems, and task management tools.

Operational Expertise:

  • Three years' experience within a COCOM/Joint operational environment, including both deliberate and crisis action planning.

Travel: Ability to travel worldwide, meeting all passport and visa requirements.

Security Clearance: Must possess a current Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Preferred Requirements

Interagency Coordination: Demonstrated experience in facilitating and coordinating with multiple military entities such as COCOM HQs, Joint Commands, and MAJCOM offices.

Advanced Planning Tools: JOPES/JOPP, TPFDD/UTL, and familiarity with secure network systems (NIPR, SIPR) and advanced repository management.

Specialized Training or Certification: Additional certifications or advanced training in joint or component command operational planning, crisis management, or related strategic fields.

Leadership in Complex Environments: Proven track record of leading multi-agency working groups and successfully briefing senior leadership.

Policy Expertise: Prior experience with HAF/MAJCOM policies and procedures is highly advantageous.

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
