Construction Manager – U.S. Embassy Project (Freetown, Sierra Leone)
Immediate Opening | 6–8 Month Assignment | OBO Project – Final Phase
We’re actively seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support the U.S. Department of State’s Overseas Building Operations (OBO) on a live construction project at the U.S. Embassy in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
This is not a proposal – the contract is active, and we are looking to hire immediately.
About the Project:
The embassy construction is in its final phase, with current efforts focused on updating the outer façade, finalizing window installation, and completing wall tile work. Your oversight will be critical to ensuring these final elements are executed to OBO standards and specifications.
Your Role:
You will work alongside the OBO Project Director to provide on-site leadership and quality assurance across remaining construction activities. This includes coordinating with local contractors and embassy personnel to ensure safety, compliance, and timely delivery.
Responsibilities Include:
Manage and coordinate day-to-day site operations during the final phase of construction
Review contractor submittals, enforce safety protocols, and oversee work quality
Ensure compliance with design documents and construction best practices
Evaluate schedule adjustments, change orders, and substitution requests
Maintain clear project documentation and reporting
Act as a liaison between OBO, the Post, local contractors, and other stakeholders
Ideal Candidate Background: We’re looking for professionals with direct experience managing OBO or U.S. Embassy construction overseas — particularly those familiar with façade work and architectural finishes.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture (ME, EE, CE also considered)
7+ years of construction management experience on similar-scale projects
Active Secret Clearance (with Top Secret eligibility)
Strong preference for candidates with prior OBO experience
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive base pay
35% Post Differential + 20% COLA
Employer-covered travel, accommodations, and medical insurance
401(k) eligibility
Option to bring family (not required)
If you’re a seasoned Construction Manager ready to step into a high-visibility OBO project nearing completion, we’d like to hear from you.
To Apply:
Please reply with your updated resume and current clearance status to GVivar@EspireServices.com
Interviews will be scheduled promptly via TEAMS or WhatsApp.
Referrals are always welcome.
