The Low Voltage Technician to support the RiverTech contract with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Office of Security and Integrity (OSI). The Low Voltage Technician reports to the RiverTech Program Manager and On-Site Supervisor and provides support of electronic security systems installations for new construction deployments, as well as change of existing construction for USCIS.

Responsibilities
- Installs low voltage cable and systems for electronic equipment and communication devices.
- Schedules testing services in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) facilities.
- Inspects security cable installations on-site.
- Racks stack and cable network video recorder, switches, servers, panels and security workstations as needed.
- Coordinates analog installations for facilities on-site.
- Provides technical plans to support Security application and systems.
- Reviews building plans for accuracy of cabling and security setup.
- Notes changes and deficiencies to projects and making corrections after it as been approved by the project manager assigned to the project.
- Provides a cost estimate by creating a bill of material for IT-related infrastructure.
- Supports security meetings by attending the meeting and providing expertise.
- Creates security cabling requirements into existing Statement of Work.
- Coordinates security vulnerability scanning with USCIS Security Operations Center and domain join.
- Operates as the point of contact between USCIS facilities and divisions when providing technical support.
- Maintains a positive relationship with outside vendors.
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
- Minimum three (3) years of work experience relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Experience with Cat5 and Cat6 cabling.
- Previous experience installing cable, rack and stack switches, servers, panels and workstations.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to perform and complete task.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, as well as SharePoint or other collaboration software.
- Demonstrated ability to produce detailed and independent written correspondence in order to communicate operational requirements.
- Proficient in security systems and reading drawings.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to think logically and work effectively within group settings or independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to receive general guidance and instructions from a supervisor or via established standard operating procedures, and act upon them with minimal supervision.
- Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance eligibility.
- US citizenship as required by the contract.
- Favorable pre-employment USCIS Entry on Duty (EOD) and Suitability Determination.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background investigation with results allowing for continued consideration for employment.
- Willing to travel up to 25% within the United States.
Desired Qualifications:
- Electrical experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with security vendors to include Ccure 9000, Gallagher Command Center, Lenel, Milestone Network Video.
