Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
The Sponsor provides analysts with large datasets, methodologies, and visualizations to support intelligence efforts. To enhance data management, they require expertise in cloud-based environments for storage, ETL processes, and dissemination. The Data Engineer will play a key role in strategic planning, system implementation, and access control mapping, while also developing code, data models, and documentation to meet Sponsor standards. Additionally, they will oversee ETL infrastructure, collaborate with external providers, support cross-domain data integration, and train team members on critical data processes.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience serving as a technical liaison between system engineers, data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and non-technical managers and personnel.
- Demonstrated experience with AWS cloud services, including long-term storage options, and cloud-based database services such as Databricks or Elastic MapReduce (EMR).
- Demonstrated experience with SQL database structures and mapping between SQL databases.
- Demonstrated experience with network attached storage (NAS).
- Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining automated deployment scripts.
- Demonstrated experience in large-scale data migration efforts.
- Demonstrated experience with large scale data compute or processing clusters such as Hadoop.
- Demonstrated experience with test-driven development on top of a secure on-premise cluster using the most efficient languages for the task such as Apache Nifi, Java, Python or SQL.
- Demonstrated experience with database architecture, performance design methodologies, and system-tuning recommendations, including Hadoop Hive, Apache NiFi, and Impala.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining, supporting, and improving the ETL process through the implementation and standardization of data flows with Apache Nifi and other ETL tools.
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience using standardized systems to procure required items.
- Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's data environment and on-premises compute structure.
- Demonstrated experience in storage and backup recovery systems.
- Demonstrated experience with Data Quality and Data Governance concepts and experience.
- Demonstrated experience with System administration and Linux administration.
- Demonstrated experience transforming data through high capacity compute (HCC) techniques.
- Demonstrated experience administering system rights and responsibilities for Sponsor's on-premises cluster and cloud infrastructure.
