  • In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time.
  • To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.
  • We are seeking a Principal Systems Integration & Test Engineer to join our Engineering team in Aurora, Colorado for the role of a Product Owner. In this role, you will collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers who are leading the industry in ground systems solutions.


What You Will Do

  • As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for planning the team's scope and ensuring timely and efficient completion during each program increment.
  • This includes ensuring the development and delivery of the program's training and technical manuals to support its miss.
  • You will report to the Program Manager and have a significant impact across various functions and program teams.
  • Responsibilities include leading a team to plan and conduct training events, developing maintenance manuals, and delivering them as formal Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs).
  • Additionally, the Product Owner will manage the team's backlog and capacity during program increment planning, conduct retrospectives for continuous improvement after each increment, and develop metric-driven Basis of Estimates (BOE) in support of Estimate at Completion (EAC) regarding cost and schedule.
  • The role also involves participating in various program reviews and presenting to customers and senior program management
  • Providing daily oversight and directions to the assigned Product Team.
  • Managing multiple training events across various locations.
  • Overseeing the team's backlog and capacity during each program increment.
  • Developing metric-driven Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and supporting Long Range Estimating (LRE) and Estimate at Completion (EAC) activities.
  • Regularly interacting with the End-User (US Space Force) to manage and nurture the business relationship, align expectations with the scope of the contract, proactively address emerging needs, and identify results.
  • Collaborating with the Program Manager to align the Product Team's priorities with program leadership.
  • Coordinating resources and schedules using execution performance metrics.
  • Working independently to determine and develop approaches to solutions.
  • Being willing to travel in support of offsite testing and meetings.
  • Operating in an Agile program environment.
  • Working in a classified lab on-site in Aurora, Colorado.


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant systems integration and test experience or 5 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in (STEM)
  • Experience in Integration and Test engineering., Experience in technical team leadership.
  • Experience in preparing and executing training events and developing maintenance manuals.
  • Experience with systems engineering principles and activities.
  • An active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance, which is required prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience in Satellite Ground System development or operations environments.
  • Experience with ground station and satellite domains, including terrestrial data networking, command and telemetry, launch operations, flight dynamics, mission planning, and on-orbit operations.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
  • Experience with Raytheon Eclipse™ or Raytheon Equinox™.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python. Experience with the Linux operating system.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
