Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$75,200 - 158,100 USD

The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Mechanical Engineer or Aerospace Engineer to support our unmanned systems development and prototyping efforts. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of design experience, mechanical aptitude, and analytical capability to help rapidly develop and integrate custom hardware solutions for airborne platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Create and revise 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
- Perform structural analysis and modeling using tools such as ANSYS.
- Manage design data and workflows using Windchill (EPDM).
- Support hands-on assembly, integration, and testing of mechanical systems.
- Assist in the development of technical documentation, including manuals and procedures.
- Collaborate with electrical and systems teams to support full platform integration.
- Contribute to project planning and coordination activities as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
- BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience
- Active Secret clearance
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and Windchill (EPDM).
- Experience with structural analysis tools, especially ANSYS.
- Mechanical assembly and integration skills, with a willingness to work hands-on.
- Familiarity with 3D printing and rapid prototyping techniques.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Desired:
- RC experience to include Hobbyist
- Experience using Mission Planner for flight configuration and planning.
- RC pilot experience (fixed wing and multirotor).
- Demonstrated skills in RC aircraft build and construction.
- Familiarity with modern RC technologies such as Betaflight, EdgeTX, DJI FPV, INAV, and ExpressLRS.
- Ability to PID tune multirotor aircraft.
- Hobbyist experience with CNC routers, laser cutters, or foam cutters.
- Experience with small engines, including tuning and adjustment of high/low-speed needle valves.
- Project management experience.
