ASRC Federal Technology Solutions (AFTS) is seeking a Field Technician to support IT hardware operations. At our Hardware Depot in Millersville, MD, manage processing trouble tickets, imaging and encrypting devices, shipping and receiving equipment, and performing laptop repairs. Travel required to various SSA locations across the United States and Territories to lead LAN relocations and server refresh operations by installing and configuring equipment such as monitors, computers, printers, docking stations, and peripherals

JOB DUTIES:

• Supporting LAN Relocations (Travel)
• Lead and support equipment relocations, equipment moves, installation of new LAN equipment, equipment refreshes
• Provide installation and relocation services for IT equipment that hooks up to existing Ethernet Local Area Network LAN; including dual IT monitors, standalone personal computers, local and network laser printers, Single Device Setup (SDS) laptops, docking stations, associated peripherals and LAN equipment.
• Every site will require the ability to capture job details, notes, and a signature in a QuickBase mobile app.
• Supporting Server Refreshments (Travel)
• Travel to various SSA locations and refresh LAN room equipment. This would consist of testing the existing equipment, removing it from a rack and setting it back up, then installing new equipment in a rack and configuring it.
• Every site will require the ability to capture job details, notes, and a signature in a QuickBase mobile app.
• Supporting Hardware Depot (Millersville, MD)
• Process Trouble Tickets
• Create and process Break/Fix & Out of Warranty tickets through QuickBase and CAPRs
• Coordinate with the SSA Help Desk to troubleshoot or resolve issues
• Imaging & Encryption
• Must be capable of following published procedures for imaging and encrypting devices while maintaining a near error free standard
• Upon demand we will be required to image, encrypt, and test laptops, tablets, and workstations for shipping to end users anywhere in the world by applying SSA provided software image
• Shipping
• Ship items via UPS and weigh all items prior to shipping
• Receiving
• Receive bulk shipments of IT equipment from 3 rd party vendors from tractor trailers and smaller vehicles
• Required to move large pallets off tractor trailers to various location in a warehouse and unpack the equipment
• Laptop Repairs
• Able to follow training and procedures for diagnosing and repairing laptops to boost refurbished inventory.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Four (4) years of demonstrated experience with IT hardware
• Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50LBS
• Travel: Required to various SSA regions located in the throughout the United States and Territories
• Valid US Driver's License
• Ability to obtain Public Trust
