JOB DESCRIPTION
In this position you will design, develop, implement, and configure cloud system environments and tools. Job duties include but are not limited to:
Implement security controls/features to support and address cybersecurity challenges on PaaS and IaaS environments.
Apply consulting and technical expertise and full industry knowledge on VA cloud solution tailoring.
Develop or support innovative solutions to complex problems.
Define, communicate, and implement cloud architecture and administration processes for VA platforms.
Apply technical expertise and industry knowledge to programs and projects.
Work with minimal supervision within established procedures and practices and serve as informal lead or mentor to junior team members.
This work includes occasional on-call support during weekends, holidays or off-hours.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
5 years’ configuring cloud administration environments and tools in AWS GovCloud.
2+ years’ Kubernetes, specifically EKS cluster, to manage and automate container orchestration.
Bachelor’s Degree (*Degree MUST be in Computer Science, Electronics, Related Engineering, Scientific or Technical discipline*.)(13 years’ relative experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
Experience with:
Using Terraform to define, build, and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) across multiple environments or Cloud Formation.
Defining secure-based cloud architecture while adhering to development methodologies, engineering, and cloud standards.
Providing detailed guidance to engineering team members creating administrative processes and procedures.
Performing operational and day-to-day administrative support functions, including troubleshooting issues and support of change and problem management processes.
Deploying and troubleshooting with HashiCorp Consul/Vault.
Working within multiple Cloud Service Providers (AWS GovCloud, AWS Commercial, and Azure)
Using Ansible to help support operations by automating processes in a cloud environment for server provisioning and configuration.
Knowledge on using ElasticSearch for data query analytics and Kibana for log and event analysis.
Ability to work with Nexus Repository and understand the technology to help troubleshoot for Developers by maintaining build artifacts.
ADDITIONAL:
Experience with additional CI/CD and DevSecOps tools such as Jenkins, Jira, Slack, Bitbucket, GitHub, Docker, or others.
Ability to manage resources, Active Directory, and other network resources in a Cloud environment with AWS preferred.
Ability to demonstrate the leadership behaviors to effectively communicate, coordinate, collaborate, and work in a visible and proactive manner across boundaries to deliver positive results.
Ability to be a highly engaging, team-oriented, customer-focused, strong work ethic, and self-starting individual able to respond rapidly to a dynamic programmatic environment.
Understanding of security best practices, including securing infrastructure, automating security checks, and ensuring compliance.
Continuously improve automation processes, reducing manual tasks and increasing the efficiency of infrastructure management.
