Description:The Shockwave Value Stream is seeking a Software Development Manager to support the Stormbreaker Program as an agile leader. The Software Development Manager will provide programmatic and technical leadership for the software development activities relating to cost, schedule and work products as well as the functional leadership responsibilities (appraisals, salary planning, etc.,) for the team.
The SDM demonstrates strategic leadership through the SAFE Agile development process including participating in and providing guidance to the design, development, documentation, testing and debugging of large, complex, multi-increment mission application software utilizing high level programming languages and cloud based technologies.
The group consists of a team of approximately 7-10 direct reports.
Agile leader duties will include some or all of: product ownership/management, cost account management, facilitation of release planning activities, escalation and removal team impediments, management of risk and the drive for continuous improvement. Candidate should have the ability to energize the team, as well as drive, motivate, and keep the team focused on program milestones.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Basic Qualifications:
• Recent Team Leadership experience
• Full Spectrum Leadership behavior, attitude and perspective
• Management of Cost and Schedule Experience
• Experience in leading a team using Agile methodologies
Desired Skills:
• Experience managing software and systems engineering efforts using Agile methods, processes and practices
• Proposal and BOE experience
• Experience as Product Owner, Scrum Master, and/or Release Train Engineer
• Experience Interviewing and Building Teams
• Agile certifications (e.g. Product Owner, Scrum Master, SAFe, etc.)
• CAM 101 or equivalent Earned Value Management training
• Previous Symphony/Stormbreaker experience

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
