Job Summary: The Production Engineering Organization is seeking a proactive Product Review Engineer 4 to support commercial derivative airplane programs in San Antonio, TX. This role requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, partnering closely with production personnel. The ideal candidate will be able to make quick engineering decisions and engage in hands-on engineering in a factory environment.

Job Summary: The Production Engineering Organization is seeking a proactive Product Review Engineer 4 to support commercial derivative airplane programs in San Antonio, TX. Responsibilities:
- Apply broad knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles.
- Assess and resolve product/process issues throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead research of technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customers and design interim and final engineering solutions.
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for design non-conformances.
- Develop and implement product/process improvements.
- Use innovative approaches to address complex nonconforming conditions and detect deviations.
- Analyze reported problems for potential safety issues; recommend and manage complex resolutions.
- Provide design phase subject matter expertise by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews.
- Represent the engineering community in the build through post-production environment.
- Ensure supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards.
- Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Lead activities for on-site disabled product repair teams and accident investigation or support teams.
- Design appropriate jacking and shoring schemes and conduct static strength analysis.
- Develop and lead non-destructive test procedures, tools, and standards.
- Develop and implement technical training curriculum for internal or external customers.
Basic Qualifications:
- Engineering degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- 5+ years of experience with the design of structural and electrical rework/repairs to restore the aircraft or system to original design capability.
- Previous Commercial Material Review Experience, Boeing or Airlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in reading/creating engineering drawings, specifications, processes, and design manuals.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience with avionics systems troubleshooting, wire bundle installations, and aircraft electrical systems troubleshooting.
- Experience in researching engineering designs to develop defect solutions to product/process issues for production or simple technical in-service issues.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience assisting with analyses, root cause analysis, and drafting dispositions for non-conformances.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience collecting, researching, and evaluating issues for product/process improvement opportunities.
- Materials Review Board (MRB)/Universal Product Review (UPR) approval authority certification.
- Executive interior installation/design experience.
- Modification & Repair experience on wide-body aircraft.
Education Required:
- Engineering degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is preferred, although not required.
Clearance:
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance post start.
