Raytheon's Advanced Technology (AT) business is seeking a Director, Advanced Technology Requirements & Capabilities (R&C) - Airborne Spectrum Dominance (ASD) & Advanced Radio Frequency (RF) Systems to lead business development efforts in a high-priority growth area. The Director will play a critical role in shaping and advancing strategic pursuits across Airborne Spectrum Dominance and Advanced RF Technologies by identifying new opportunities, building customer relationships, and aligning internal capabilities with mission needs.

As a senior leader on the AT R&C team, the Director will be responsible for driving early engagement with customers, translating mission requirements into actionable strategies, and influencing program development and investment decisions. This role demands strong technical acumen, deep market insight, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, program management, and strategy teams to position Raytheon for long-term success in a rapidly evolving threat environment. The Director reports to the AT R&C Executive and serves as a key voice in shaping future growth across the AT portfolio.

What You Will Do
  • Lead and manage the ASD R&C team supporting the ASD Small Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) and Advanced RF Systems mission area, setting strategic direction, aligning priorities, and enabling high performance in support of Raytheon's growth and mission goals
  • Build and sustain deep customer intimacy with the DoD customer and other government agencies, maintaining awareness of their evolving mission needs, strategic objectives, and satisfaction with Raytheon's solutions
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the customer's budget landscape, long-term investment priorities, and acquisition strategies-translating insights into actionable guidance for Raytheon
  • Guide and support Raytheon and RTX teams in solving complex customer challenges, facilitating timely and impactful solutions that strengthen mission trust and deepen partnerships
  • Serve as the escalation point for customer-facing issues and lead efforts to deliver exceptional customer service experiences-resolving concerns with professionalism, ownership, and urgency
  • Drive disciplined Business Development (BD) processes across the team, ensuring effective execution of opportunity identification, shaping, and pipeline management, and leading or supporting gate reviews and Color Team reviews
  • Oversee the development of high-quality customer briefings, capture strategies, proposals, and related artifacts to ensure alignment with customer needs, competitive positioning, and Raytheon strategy
  • Collect and analyze customer interaction data and engagement trends to forecast future needs, inform capability development, and shape strategic pursuits
  • Collaborate across functional areas-including engineering, program management, strategy, and finance-to align internal priorities with customer expectations and operational execution
  • Ensure timely, transparent communication with the DoD customer and other government agencies across all formal and informal engagements, requests for information, and solicitations
  • Track and coordinate internal engagement with the customer, including site visits and leadership touchpoints; develop agendas, talking points, and background materials for executive-level visits
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement across the R&C function, leveraging metrics and feedback loops to enhance efficiency, proposal quality, and customer engagement
  • Foster a high-performance, mission-aligned culture within the ASD R&C team, mentoring talent, driving accountability, and reinforcing a shared commitment to excellence and impact
  • Possible Work Locations: TX - McKinney, VA - Arlington, MD - Lexington Park
  • Domestic travel up to 40%


Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 14 years prior Aerospace and Defense industry experience, or an Advanced Degree and a minimum of 12 years' experience
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in classified environments to include Special Access Required (SAR)
  • A minimum of 10 years of prior Program Management and/or Business Development dealing with RF technologies (e.g., radar, sensors, electronic warfare) applied to airborne platforms (e.g., aircraft, UAVs, satellites)

  • Working knowledge of Business Development operations process (e.g., investments, financial planning, pipeline management)

The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
