Responsibilities

Your combination of people skills and system administrator expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. What if you could use those skills to improve the technology supporting the nation ? We're looking for a system administrator who specializes in VMware to help us design, analyze, develop, implement and integrate secure and reliable computer applications to improve the nation's security.

As a system administrator on our project, you'll maintain a virtual machine infrastructure with several virtual environments and machines. You'll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management.

Your system administrator expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. You'll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning.

This is an opportunity to demonstrate your skillset in areas like VMware, vSphere, and VDI. We focus on growing as a team, so you'll share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as you help the team work through challenges and develop new methodologies. As a system administrator leader, you'll identify new opportunities to modernize the network so your clients achieve their goals. Qualifications

You Have:

  • Experience with VMware vSphere (vCenter and ESXi ) experience support multi-site environments
  • Experience with VMware Horizon VDI experience supporting a geographically disperse enterprise with a mix of persistent and instant clone desktops
  • Experience in creating Microsoft Windows golden images
  • Experience with HP thin clients and HP Device Manager (HPDM)
  • Experience with application capturing and troubleshooting VMware App Volume
  • Experience with VMware Unified Access Gateway
  • Experience in capacity planning for geographically distributed enterprise level systems
  • Experience in converting customer requirements into a technical plan
  • Experience with the full life cycle of system development
  • Experience working with PKI certificates and keys
  • TS/SCI with a polygraph
  • HS Diploma or GED


Nice to Have:

  • Experience creating end user, admin, and system documentation
  • Experience with VMware PowerCLI using Microsoft PowerShell
  • Knowledge of network communications
  • Knowledge of enterprise storage technology, specifically Network Attached Storage (NAS) via Network File System (NFS)
  • Knowledge of Linux commands
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPO)
  • Knowledge of project management to include understanding resource planning for technical projects


Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,143.26 /year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,143.26 /year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position offered, sign-on payments, relocation, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of full paid medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
